Claim of relocating Osman Hadi's grave is fake
A photo has been circulated on social media claiming that the Dhaka University administration is removing the grave of Sharif Osman Hadi, convener of the Inqilab Moncho (Inqilab platform/stage), from the campus. However, a verification by Dismislab reveals that the photo shows the digging of Osman Hadi’s grave before his burial on the premises of the Nazrul Mausoleum at Dhaka University in December 2025. Dhaka University Proctor Md Israfil Ratan confirmed to Dismislab that the university administration has not taken any such decision to remove the grave.
A Facebook profile posted a photo with the caption, “The university administration is removing the grave of the generation’s insolent, foul-mouthed Hadi. (Source: Facebook).” In the photo, some individuals are seen digging a grave. The photo was also posted with the same claim from multiple (1, 2, 3, 4) Facebook profiles.

To verify the authenticity of the claim, a reverse image search of the photo was carried out, which led to a report published by Dainik Inqilab on December 20, 2025. The report stated, “In a syndicate meeting of Dhaka University (DU), the decision has been taken to designate the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam Mausoleum premises as the burial place of the late Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Osman Hadi.
“This information has been obtained from university administration sources. University Proctor Dr Saifuddin Ahmed stated that this decision was adopted in an emergency online meeting of the Dhaka University syndicate on Friday (December 19) night.” Additionally, multiple (1, 2, 3, 4) reports published in December 2025 are found where the photo was used.

The reports stated that the grave is being dug to bury Osman Hadi. That is to say, the photo is old.
For further verification, Dismislab contacted Dhaka University Proctor Associate Professor Md. Israfil Ratan. Confirming to Dismislab, he said, “The university administration has not taken any such decision to remove the grave.”
