Content creator's staged video circulated as Hindu extremist assault in India
A video has been circulated on Facebook claiming that Hindu extremists are torturing an elderly man in India. However, a fact-check by Dismislab reveals that the circulated claim is fake. The original video was published on December 15 of last year from the YouTube channel of an Indian content creator. Verification shows that the video was scripted, and that content creator frequently acts in and publishes such videos on social media.
On October 16, a video was posted from a Facebook profile with the caption, “Hindu extremists ruthlessly torturing a centenarian elderly man in India.” In the 20-second video, three individuals are seen tipping over a hand-driven three-wheeled vehicle and throwing an elderly man sitting on it to the ground.
Up until the publication of this report, the video has been viewed more than 8,900 times. The video was posted with the same claim on multiple Facebook profiles (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
To verify the authenticity of the incident, conducting a reverse image search using various keyframes of the video brought Dismislab to a video published on December 15 of last year from a YouTube channel named “Muklesur Bhaijan 2.0“. The 20-second video shows an exact match with the circulated video.
Reviewing the YouTube channel reveals that a content creator named Muklesur Ali from Birbhum, India, operates this channel. The channel was launched in May 2025. In the description of the channel, it is stated that the videos are made for entertainment purposes. Reviewing the channel shows that the content creator frequently publishes such videos. The elderly man is also seen acting in multiple other (1, 2) videos.
In a report by Newschecker Bangla regarding the same video, it was also referred to as a scripted video created by a content creator.
Previously as well, Dismislab has published multiple reports regarding scripted videos by content creators.
That is to say, the video circulated claiming the torture of an elderly man by Hindu extremists is scripted. It is a video created by an Indian content creator.
