A video has recently spread on social media claiming that government job tests under Advisor Asif Mahmud’s ministry are being held at home. But Dismislab’s verification found that the video was taken from a news report about a recruitment exam of the Kushtia Civil Surgeon’s Office. This exam was conducted under the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan is not part of this ministry.

A video captioned “Finally, merit tests for government jobs are being held at home 🤣” has circulated on several social media platforms (1, 2). The text in the video reads, “Government job tests for Advisor Asif’s ministry are being held at home.” The video, which carries the DBC News logo, shows several people running out of a house. It has been viewed by about 500,000 users and shared more than 6,000 times.

Keyword searches led to several news reports (1, 2, 3, 4) revealing the original incident. The original DBC News report was also found. According to the report, on the morning of the recruitment exam for employees at the Kushtia Civil Surgeon’s Office, 25-30 candidates were seen leaving the home of Dr. Mohammad Hossain Imam together. Dr. Imam is the Resident Medical Officer (RMO) at Kushtia 250-bed General Hospital. Allegations surfaced that answer sheets were being prepared and mock tests were being held at the officer’s house before the official exam. After the video went viral, the recruitment committee  suspended the hiring process.

News report covering the original incident.

The recruitment exam for third- and fourth-class employees at the Kushtia Civil Surgeon’s Office was held under the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The advisor to this ministry is Nurjahan Begum, not Asif Mahmud. Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan is responsible for the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.

In summary, the recruitment exam at the Kushtia Civil Surgeon’s Office was conducted under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and has no connection to any ministry under Asif Mahmud.
