Scene from India circulates as a dispute between two groups in Bangladesh
A video has recently spread on social media claiming that in Brahmanbaria, two groups of locals rented loudspeakers to play music at each other following a feud. However, Dismislab’s fact-check reveals that the scene is from an old incident in Murshidabad, India. Verification also reveals that the same video had previously been circulated with the false claim that it took place in Chapainawabganj on the India–Bangladesh border.
On October 31, 2025, a Facebook page named Khabor Plus posted the 14-second video. It shows rows of microphones and sound boxes placed facing each other on two sides of a wide green field next to a brick kiln, with music being played at high volume. The caption reads, “In Brahmanbaria, one side of the local residents is renting loudspeakers to play music toward the other side following a dispute.” The video has been shared more than 3,000 times and has received more than 80,000 reactions.

Multiple other Facebook pages and profiles have also posted the video with the same claim (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8). Several YouTube channels have also uploaded the scene claiming it is from Brahmanbaria (1, 2, 3).

A reverse image search using multiple keyframes from the video found an identical video uploaded nine months earlier (January 15) on a Facebook profile named Golap Pagli. The caption reads, “Murshidabad Vs Nadia open a competition.” The video has been viewed more than 40,00,000 [verify] times, shared more than 800 times, and has received 33,000 reactions and more than 350 comments.
Further search using the caption “Murshidabad Vs Nadia open a competition” in Google leads to the same video on a YouTube channel named Rabiul Funny Video. The search also returned a fact-check published on January 25 by the Indian news outlet Aaj Tak Bangla. According to the report, when the video circulated with the claim that it took place in Chapainawabganj on the India–Bangladesh border, Aaj Tak Bangla marked the claim as “false.”
What Aaj Tak Bangla’s fact-check report found
Using relevant keyword searches, Dismislab found several older posts (1, 2) where the video had circulated with the claim that it happened in Chapainawabganj. Some of those posts were labeled by Facebook as containing false information. Their captions read, “There is a music fight going on at the Bangladesh–India border in Chapainawabganj. Increase the number of microphones at the Bangladesh border. I will sell my plowing cow to pay for it.”

According to Aaj Tak Bangla’s fact-check report, the actual incident took place in Gobindapur under Domkal police station in Murshidabad, India. When the video circulated with the Chapainawabganj claim, Aaj Tak Bangla conducted a reverse image search of screenshots and found the same video on the YouTube channel named Rabiul Funny. By reviewing other videos uploaded on that channel, they found the text “Super Sound” in one short video. The short also contained a contact number and address. Its caption read “Picnic 2025.”
Aaj Tak Bangla then searched Google Maps to locate the possible address of the “Super Sound” company in India. They called the contact number listed in the video and spoke to Shahin Sheikh, an employee of the company. Shahin Sheikh told Aaj Tak Bangla that he lives in Nadia district and supplies and operates such sound systems for different events.
According to the Aaj Tak Bangla report, Shahin Sheikh also said, “The viral video is actually from Gobindapur under Domkal police station in Murshidabad. Two brick kiln authorities organized picnics and held a kind of sound competition just for their own entertainment.”
This means the video circulated as an incident in Brahmanbaria is actually from Murshidabad, India, and it had previously circulated with the claim that it took place in Chapainawabganj on the India–Bangladesh border.
