A video claiming that a Hindu man was beaten to death after labeling him an ISKCON militant in Bangladesh has recently circulated on Facebook. However, Dismislab’s fact-check shows that the video is not from Bangladesh, but from Nepal.

The video was uploaded on October 28, 2025, by a Facebook page called “Amra Harbo Na.” The caption reads: “ISKCON militant tag used to beat a Hindu boy to death by the scoundrels called Tauhidi Janta..” The hashtags read #Jongi #Mob_Terror #Bangladesh. The video is 49 seconds long and shows a group of people assaulting a man lying on the street. The video has been shared over 200 times. The video has also been posted by multiple other profiles and pages with the same claim (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

Fact-check: Video falsely claimed to show an “ISKCON militant” beaten to death in Bangladesh actually depicts the killing of a police officer during Nepal’s GenZ movement in 2025.

Verification of the video shows that multiple keyframes match a video on a Facebook page called “Nischal Kobita Blog.” A 55-second video posted on September 9 matches exactly with a seven-second segment of the recently circulated video.

The caption of the video is written in Nepali, stating: “Yesterday the DSP who fired was beaten to death.” Hashtags #GenZ and #GenZ Revolution is also included. The page’s transparency section confirms it is managed from Nepal.

Disbisslab also contacted Umesh Shrestha, editor of Nepalese fact-checking organization “Nepal Fact Check.” He confirmed that the video is from Nepal.

Umesh Shrestha also stated, “The language spoken in the video is Nepali. It is an incident from a recent GenZ victim shown in the video is one of them.” He confirmed to Disbisslab that the deceased police officer was Assistant Sub-Inspector Amrit Gurung.

A report published on September 23 states that during the GenZ movement in Nepal in September 2025, Assistant Sub-Inspector Amrit Gurung of Koteshwor police station was killed by protesters with sharp weapons. At the same time, attacks on police and arson incidents occurred in different areas of the capital, resulting in the deaths of three police officers.

The video claiming that a Hindu man was killed with an ISKCON militant tag is not from Bangladesh. It is an incident that occurred in Nepal during the GenZ movement in September 2025.
