A video has been circulating on Facebook and YouTube showing a police officer, citing a survey, saying that BNP will get 40 seats, Jamaat 190, and NCP 20 seats in the upcoming election. But Dismislab’s fact-check found that the statement was created using artificial intelligence (AI).

On December 7, a 16-second video was shared from a Facebook group called “Barrister Arman Supporters’ Group.” At the time of writing this report, the video had been viewed 783 times. The video has also been posted on YouTube. The caption reads, “Not many days left. In the coming February, you will be able to see the rule of the Qur’an, Inshallah.” This video has been viewed 19,000 times so far.

Fact-check of viral video showing a police officer claiming BNP will win 40 seats, Jamaat 190, and NCP 20 in an election survey—analysis reveals the footage is AI-generated with altered logos and fabricated statements.

In the video, a police officer is seen speaking at a press conference, saying, “BNP will get 40 seats, Jamaat 190, NCP will get 20. This is our survey. People support change, good governance, and Islamic rule. Not much time left. By next February, you will see the rule of the Qur’an. Everyone, say Alhamdulillah and share the video widely.”

Verification shows that the nameplate on the police officer has some Bangla letters that don’t form any word or meaning. Also, at the 8-second mark, a nameplate suddenly appears in front of the police officer. It also contains letters that have no meaning. At the beginning of the video, the police logo on the wall behind him reads “BANNNICH POLICE.” But at the 8-second mark, the logo and the text both change. This time, the word “POLICE” changes to “বীCH,” and “BANNNICH” changes to “BANDICH.”

Multiple inconsistencies are visible in the AI-generated video.

The same video is also seen on YouTube. One user commented, “Mashallah. Allah. Huakbar. Right words. My prayers. Thank you.”

Dismislab also found no news or information about any such survey or results from the police.

Additionally, when checked using the AI content detection tool Hive Moderation, the video showed a 98% likelihood of being AI-generated. This indicates a very high possibility that the circulated video was created using artificial intelligence.

In other words, the video of the police officer’s statement about an election survey was made using AI. Earlier, Dismislab published a fact-check report about an AI video of the DMP Commissioner, who was falsely quoted as saying that police arrested a BNP activist during an arson attempt on a public bus.
