Fake photocard quotes DMP Commissioner, falsely links BNP leader Mirza Abbas with Hadi Murder
A message is circulating on social media claiming that the DMP Commissioner stated that the involvement of BNP leader Mirza Abbas has been found in the murder of Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, the spokesperson for Inqilab Mancha. This claim is being spread via a photocard bearing the logo of the news media outlet Channel 24. However, Dismislab’s fact-check reveals that Channel 24 never published such a photocard.
The photocard, featuring a picture of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sazzad Ali, began spreading in a Facebook group on December 28. Using an image of the Commissioner delivering a speech, the card reads: “Involvement of ‘Mirza Abbas’ found in Hadi murder—DMP Commissioner.”

The Channel 24 logo is placed in the middle of the card. Additionally, the date “December 28, 2025” is written on the bottom right, and the media outlet’s website address is on the left. As of the writing of this report, the photocard has been shared 78 times.
To verify the authenticity of the card, Dismislab reviewed the official Facebook page of Channel 24 for posts from December 28, but found no such photocard or related report links. However, the media outlet did publish a photocard using the same image with the caption: “Will reveal the names of those involved in the Hadi murder: DMP Commissioner.”

For further clarification, Dismislab also contacted Channel 24. Mazhar Khandaker, Joint News Editor and Online In-charge of Channel 24, confirmed that no such photocard was published by Channel 24 on December 28.
Therefore, the photocard circulating in the name of Channel 24 is fake. The news outlet did not publish any photocard quoting the DMP Commissioner that police found Mirza Abbas’s involvement in the Hadi murder case.
