Video of Trump Jr. in India passed off as an Awami League meeting with diplomats
A video has spread on Facebook claiming that senior leaders of the Awami League party are holding meetings with diplomats from various countries in Kolkata. But factcheck by Dismislab shows that the video is actually of Donald Trump Jr., who was traveling to Jamnagar, India, on November 20.
The video was posted from a personal Facebook profile with the caption, “High-ranking Awami League leaders, along with diplomats from various countries, are arriving in Kolkata to attend an important meeting with the Awami League. A tough program is coming this Victory Month. Important directions about the Awami League’s future journey will be given in today’s meeting. Several members of the Sheikh family, including Saima Wazed Putul, will be present.” The video has been viewed more than 73,000 times so far.

Several personal Facebook profiles (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) posted the same video and commented in support of the caption’s claim.
A reverse image search of the video’s keyframes revealed the same footage on the verified X account of the Press Trust of India (PTI News), published on November 20 of this year. The caption read, “Video | Gujarat: Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. has arrived in Jamnagar.” The 37-second video matches the circulated clip exactly from the 5-second to the 23-second mark.

The same footage was also found on a YouTube channel named “India News Gujarat.” The video published on November 20 had the caption, “Donald Trump Jr. in Jamnagar, one topic dominates the city now: Donald Trump. The son of the U.S. President.” The same video was also found on Instagram, where it was described as footage of Donald Trump Jr. traveling to Jamnagar.
Further verification found a report published on November 20 on an online portal called Ajit Samachar. The headline read, “The son of the U.S. President, Donald Trump Jr., has arrived in Jamnagar.” The photo used in the report matches the scenes from the circulated video exactly.
Several news outlets (1, 2, 3, 4) also reported on this event. A report published on November 21 by “The Indian Witness” stated that Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of former U.S. President Donald Trump, arrived in Jamnagar, Gujarat, on Thursday, November 20, to visit the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre ‘Bantara.’

Donald Trump Jr. visited India to attend the wedding of Netra Mantena, daughter of American billionaire businessman Rama Raju Mantena, and entrepreneur Vamsi Gadiraju. He arrived in Udaipur on the night of November 21 to attend the wedding.
In other words, the circulated video is not of an Awami League meeting in Kolkata. The footage shows Donald Trump Jr.’s visit to India for a different purpose altogether.
