A photocard carrying a Channel 24 has spread on Facebook claiming that NCP leader Dr. Mahmuda Mitu fell victim to a gangrape while returning home at night. However, Dismislab’s fact-check finds that the media outlet did not publish any such photocard or report.

On December 28, the photocard which contains a picture of Dr. Mahmuda Mitu, spread from a Facebook page. The text inside the photocard reads, “July fighter Dr. Mahmuda Mitu fell victim to gangrape while returning home at night”.

The Channel 24 logo appears at the top right corner of the photocard. In addition, the date “28 December 2025” appears at the bottom left of the card, and the media outlet’s website address appears on the right side. The post’s caption reads, “Breaking news at this moment July fighter Dr. Mahmud Mitu fell victim to gang r*pe while returning home everyone follow the page and stay with us.” (text unchanged).

The photocard drew more than 300 shares, over 1,300 reactions and more than 500 comments. One user commented, “Allah’s wrath”, another commented, “Alas! red independence….”

To confirm the authenticity of the photocard, Dismislab checked the photocards and posts from December 28 on the official Facebook page of Channel 24, but found no such reports or cards.

Dismislab also found no report related to the NCP leader’s alleged gangrape in any news outlet.

Dismislab also contacted Channel 24 for further verification. Majhar Khandaker, joint news editor and online in-charge of the media outlet, confirmed that they did not publish any such photocard on December 28. He also said that the outlet no longer uses this format of the card, although they used it in the past.

This means the photocard spread in Channel 24’s name is fake. The media outlet did not publish any photocard claiming that Dr. Mahmud Mitu fell victim to a gangrape on December 28.

Previously, several fake photo cards involving Mahmuda Mitu circulated using the names of different media outlets, as revealed in fact-check reports by the fact-checking organization FactWatch. Dismislab also published fact-check reports on fake photocard circulated in the name of Channel 24.
