Fake DBC News photocard with fake quote of Dr. Yunus about voting spreads online
A fake photocard bearing the logo of DBC News is circulating on Facebook, claiming that Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has hinted at an appeal to not vote for a specific party. However, Dismislab’s fact-check reveals that DBC News never published such a photocard.
The photocard featuring a picture of Dr. Yunus began spreading in a Facebook group on December 29. Using an image of the Chief Advisor with the typical background seen during his addresses to the nation, the card reads: “Do not destroy a beautiful country by voting for a corrupt, extortionist, usurper, and terrorist party for personal interests…”
The DBC News logo is placed in the upper-left corner of the card. The bottom-left corner displays the date: “December 16, 2025. Tuesday.” The center features the outlet’s YouTube channel link, and the right side contains their website address. The photocard has been shared 18 times and has received 63 reactions.
To verify the authenticity of the card, Dismislab reviewed the official Facebook page of DBC News for posts from December 16. No such photocard or report link was found on that date. However, the news outlet did publish a photocard using the same image with a different caption: “Vote for the qualified person, ensure the future of the nation: Chief Advisor.”

Dismislab also contacted DBC News, and Kamrul Islam Rubel, Deputy General Manager of the news outlet’s Digital Media Wing, confirmed that the circulating photocard was not produced by DBC News. He noted that the grey background used in the fake card is not used by DBC News and has never been part of their design.
Therefore, the photocard circulated in the name of DBC News is fake. DBC News did not publish any photocard of Dr. Muhammad Yunus with the statement regarding not voting for “corrupt or terrorist parties.”
