On social media, a plane crash video is being shared with the claim that it’s a visual of a Bangladesh Air Force training jet crashing into a building of Milestone School in Uttara, Dhaka. But verification shows that the video is actually from the 2024 training jet crash in the Karnaphuli River, Chattogram.

On July 21 in the afternoon, a training jet crashed into a building of Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka. The video was circulated on social media (1, 2, 3, 4) claiming that it shows the plane crashing into the building.

But reverse search shows that the video is from last year. On May 9, 2024, a Bangladesh Air Force Yak-130 training jet crashed in the Patenga area of Chattogram. During the accident, two pilots of the training jet ejected with parachutes. This video is from that incident.

The crash video was found in reports of several news media (1, 2, 3). In that plane crash, the pilot of the jet, Squadron Leader Asim Jawad, died.
