A video has been shared on Facebook with the claim that hundreds of protesters are traveling to Delhi by train to join a demonstration. However, Dismislab’s fact-check found that the video is not from India. An old video filmed in Bangladesh has been circulated with a false context.

On October 10, a video was posted from a Facebook page named “Update Bangladesh.” The 24-second video shows countless people sitting all across the roof of a train. The post’s caption read, “Hundreds of protesters entering Delhi by train” (verbatim). The hashtags #DelhiProtest, #StudentMovement, and #IndiaNews were used alongside it. As of the publication of this report, the post had received nearly 1,800 reactions. The video had been shared 315 times.

The video was also shared with the same claim from several accounts on X (1, 2).

To verify the claim, Dismislab conducted a reverse image search on keyframes of the video. This found a video posted on September 5 on a Facebook page named RRBD. Both videos show the same scene. The passengers sitting on the roof, the people beside the railway line, and the position of the nearby buildings and trees are all the same.

For further verification, Dismislab contacted the RRBD page. The page said the video was filmed in the Tongi area of Gazipur district, before the last Eid-ul-Fitr (March 2026). The metadata of the original video they sent confirms that it was recorded on March 18.

In other words, this video of passengers on the roof of a train is from Bangladesh. The video has no connection to any protest in India.

It is worth noting that the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) called for a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on October 10, demanding the resignation of India’s Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar.
