On July 12, several old videos were circulated on social media throughout the day, falsely claiming that activists from the National Citizen Party (NCP) and Jamaat-Shibir had attacked and set fire to Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) offices in Dhaka, Comilla, Jessore and Jhenaidah. Dismislab verified five of the videos allegedly showing attacks on BNP offices and found they were not recent. The misleading footage was shared amid protests following the death of scrap trader Sohag in front of Mitford Hospital in Dhaka.

Two videos have circulated on social media — one showing a group of people beating a man by the roadside, and the other showing a person striking someone with a spade in an open field. Social media posts claim that the footage depicts recent incidents in Bangladesh. But verification shows that one of the videos is from Andhra Pradesh, India, and the other from Uttar Pradesh.
