Old U.S. video shared as Iranian attack on Israeli airport
A video is circulating on social media with the claim that Iran has carried out a bomb attack on Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport. However, a fact-check by Dismislab reveals that the video depicts a fire in the landing gear of an American Airlines plane at Denver International Airport in the United States on July 26, 2025.
On March 1, 2026, a video was posted from a personal Facebook profile. The caption stated, “Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah Iran has carried out a bomb attack on Israel’s Bengorini airport, and warnings are ongoing.” As of publication of this report, the video has been viewed more than 164,000 times and shared 1,000 times. In the 37-second video, fire is seen at the rear of a plane on a runway, and passengers disembark one by one.

The video was posted with the same claim from multiple personal Facebook profiles (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) and pages (1, 2).
A reverse image search of various keyframes led Dismislab to a video published on July 28 of last year on the Associated Press YouTube channel. The title read: “Passengers evacuate smoky plane at Denver airport using emergency slides.”
According to the report, “Authorities said passengers evacuated a smoky jet at Denver International Airport via emergency slides due to a possible malfunction in the plane’s landing gear. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that a ‘possible landing gear accident’ was reported on American Airlines flight 3023 while departing from Denver on Saturday afternoon. The Texas-based airline stated in a statement that the issue was primarily related to one of the aircraft’s tires.”
The segment from 3 to 40 seconds of the 51-second video is an exact match to the circulating video.

Further verification revealed reports from multiple international media outlets (1, 2, 3). The circulating video was also seen in these reports. A report published by the U.S.-based media outlet CNN on July 27, 2025, stated: “According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a fire broke out due to a ‘possible landing gear accident’ on an American Airlines flight during takeoff from Denver International Airport on Saturday. In this incident, more than 150 passengers of the plane were evacuated to the runway, and one person was injured.”
The report further stated, “According to information from American Airlines and Denver International Airport, a maintenance-related problem occurred in the tires of the Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft just before takeoff. Following this, the airport’s emergency rescue team and the Denver Fire Department took swift action, and everyone on the plane was evacuated to the runway.”
That is to say, an old video from America is being circulated with the claim of an Iranian attack on Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport.

For context, Iran has previously carried out missile attacks on Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport multiple times (1, 2, 3) during the long-standing conflict between Israel and Iran. According to a report by The Times of Israel, Israel has announced the closure of its airports and all types of civilian flights to ensure security due to the ongoing war between Iran and Israel.
It is noteworthy that the circulating video has previously been seen spreading with false claims in different contexts, regarding which Dismislab has published a fact-check report.
Dismislab has also previously published multiple fact-check reports regarding the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
