A video has spread on Facebook claiming that the National Citizen Party (NCP) and student coordinators attacked an Ansar camp. However, Dismislab’s fact-check found that the video is from a training and security drill held on November 3 for Ansar-VDP members ahead of the national election.

Several personal profiles (1, 2, 3, 4) posted the video captioned, “Terrible attack on the Ansar camp, NCP and coordinators jointly attacked the Ansar force.” Another post’s caption read, “Yunus will hold the election alone. A terrible attack on the Ansar training camp, the Jamaat and coordinators jointly attacked the Ansar force. Training T20.”

Two videos were mainly found circulating on Facebook. One video is 22 seconds long, showing a group of people protesting in front of a building. On top of the building, a signboard reads, “Dumni Government Primary School, established in 1952, Dumni, Khilkhet, Dhaka – 1229.” On the top right corner of the video, the logo of “Dhaka Post” is visible.

Another video is 56 seconds long, showing a group of people protesting in the same environment. Several individuals wearing Ansar Guard Battalion (AGB) jackets are seen trying to stop the protest. At 0:33 seconds of the video, several people are seen recording the incident with cameras.

To verify the first video, Dismislab conducted a reverse image search and found a YouTube video published by Dhaka Post. The caption of the video reads, “How Ansar members were trained ahead of the 2026 election | Election | Dhaka Post News.” The first 22 seconds of the 3:35-minute video matched exactly with the circulating video.

To verify the second video’s source, Dismislab conducted another reverse image search and found a video posted by Kaler Kantho on Facebook captioned: “How Ansar members were trained ahead of the 2026 election.” From 0:12 seconds to 1 minute 12 seconds, the video matches exactly with the one circulating online.

Further verification using keywords such as “election,” “Ansar,” and “drill” revealed several reports (1, 2, 3, 4) published by different news outlets. According to a report published by Prothom Alo on November 3, a security drill and training session for Ansar-VDP members for election duty at polling centers were held at Bhatara in the capital for Ansar company-platoon members on that day. It was the fourth phase of the training forAnsar-VDP members as part of the election preparation. The Chief Election Commissioner attended the event as the chief guest.

A total of 320 trained Ansar and VDP members from four zones of the Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar participated in the drill. Members of the Ansar Guard Battalion took part in patrols, duty distribution, and emergency response exercises. The drill included ensuring safe delivery of election materials to polling centers, helping voters cast their votes in an orderly manner, preventing fake voting, protecting presiding officers, and preparing for quick coordination with the army, BGB, RAB, and police.

That means, the video that has been shared with the claim that the NCP and coordinators jointly attacked the Ansar force is actually from a training drill of Ansar company-platoon members.
