A video circulating on Facebook claims to show a recent clash between Jubo Dal, BNP, and Awami League in Chandpur. However, fact-checking reveals the original footage dates back to August 4 last year. Reports from news outlets confirm that the video shows a clash between protesting students and Chhatra League members during the July Uprising in Chandpur.

On November 11, 2025, a personal Facebook profile shared the video with the caption: “It’s happening right now… Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu. Jubo Dal, BNP, and Awami League are in a chase and counter-chase. BNP-Jamaat on the run. When Sheikh’s daughter comes, Bangladesh will tremble. Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu, victory to Sheikh Hasina.” The video has been viewed over 14,000 times and shared nearly 300 times.

The 1:47-minute video clip includes edited white text reading, “Chandpur Awami League.” To make it seem recent, the date “11-11-2025” and the time “10:30 am” were also added.

Several other Facebook profiles (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) shared the same video with identical claims. The videos show a group of people holding sticks, protesting in the street, and throwing bricks and stones as they advance.

To verify the video, keyframes were checked through reverse image search, revealing a Deepto News YouTube report  published on August 4, 2024. The report was titled, “Clash between Chhatra League and students in Chandpur: 30 injured, including a Deepto TV journalist.” The footage in that news report matches exactly with the viral video.

Further verification using related keyword searches found multiple media reports (1,2,3,4,5,6) on the same incident.

According to  a report by the daily Ittefaq, on August 4, 2024, during the July Uprising, a series of clashes occurred between Chhatra League– Jubo League members and protesting students in Chandpur. At least 30 people, including journalists, were injured. Chhatra League members threw bricks at the students, who later chased them away in groups.

Hence, the circulating video actually shows a scene from August 4, 2024, during the July Uprising in Chandpur. It is not a recent political clash between BNP and Awami League, as falsely claimed.
