An image is being circulated on multiple social media platforms with the claim, “Twin baby girls arrived in the world with thick, black, long hair.” Using nearly identical images, it is sometimes claimed that this was an “unbelievable incident” that occurred at a hospital in Rangpur district, and at other times it is claimed that the incident took place at a hospital in Dinajpur, another northern district in Bangladesh. However, a Dismislab fact-check shows that the image was created or edited using Google’s AI (artificial intelligence) model.

An image showing several doctors and nurses standing and smiling while holding two newborn babies with long hair in their arms is being circulated on the social media platforms Facebook (1, 2, 3) and Instagram. Users are sharing the image on personal profiles or in Facebook groups with exactly the same caption.

Screengrabs of the circulated images.

The caption reads, “An unbelievable incident occurred at a hospital in Rangpur — twin baby girls arrived in the world with thick, black, long hair. Immediately after birth, everyone became captivated by their beauty. Waves of joy flowed throughout the hospital surrounding the two fairy-like, beautiful children. Who would hold them first – there seemed to be a sweet competition among the doctors and nurses! Such a scene is reportedly seen very rarely even over many years. Today Rangpur remained witness to the miraculous arrival of two long-haired princesses!”

Another image featuring the same individuals, clothing, and location visible in this image has also been found. However, in this image, the babies’ hair is even longer. In this image, a bearded cheek is also visible on a woman wearing a hijab who appeared in the previous image. The caption of this image is the same as the previous one. Only instead of Rangpur, it is claimed that the incident occurred in Dinajpur. So far, the post has been shared 178 times. In the comments, some expressed astonishment, while others questioned the authenticity.

For verification, Dismislab ran a test through Gemini’s SynthID, and results show both images were created or edited using Google’s AI model. Verification using AI content detection tools Hive Moderation and AI or Not also shows that there is a strong likelihood that both images were generated using AI. No report of any such incident has been found in any domestic media outlet.
