DBS News published a photo card about Israel’s recent attacks on Lebanon. However, the image used in the photo card is not from Lebanon. A Dismislab fact-check found that it is a photograph of a building destroyed in an Israeli attack in Beit Lahia, Gaza, in 2024.

An official Facebook page of DBS News published a photo card on September 8. It read, “Nearly 800 children killed and 360,000 children displaced in Lebanon in Israeli attacks.” The image used in the photo card shows an injured man sitting on the ruins of a building reduced to rubble. Several women and children can be seen behind him. The source of the image was attributed to Turkey’s Anadolu Agency.

A reverse image search to verify the source of the photograph led to a report published by the British newspaper The Guardian on October 30, 2024. The image used in that report is an exact match for the image used in the DBS News Daily photo card.

The Guardian’s caption says that an injured man is sitting on the rubble of a building destroyed in an Israeli attack in Beit Lahia, Gaza. The photograph was credited to the news agency AFP.

The same image was also used in a report published by the British media outlet Middle East Eye on October 29, 2024. The image description identifies it as a scene of a building that collapsed in the October 29 attack in Beit Lahia. The photograph was also credited to AFP in this report.

In other words, the image used in the photo card posted by DBS News on September 8 about the situation in Lebanon is a photograph of a building destroyed in an Israeli attack in Beit Lahia, Gaza, nearly two years earlier.

It is worth noting that Israel carried out attacks in Lebanon on September 7, 2026. According to a report published by the news agency Reuters, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that at least 12 people, including two children, were killed in Israeli attacks on a town in southern Lebanon early Monday. It was one of the deadliest days in Lebanon in terms of casualties from Israeli airstrikes in recent weeks.
