Image showing joint march demanding justice for police killings is AI-generated
A photo has spread on Facebook and Instagram claiming that Bangladesh Police, Army, BGB, and Ansar forces are holding a joint protest march demanding justice for the killing of a police officer. It also claimed that the march started from “Dhaka Police Lines.” However, Dismislab’s fact-check found that the image was created using artificial intelligence (AI).
On December 15, a Facebook page posted the image with the caption, “We want justice for the police killing! A joint protest march of Bangladesh Police, Army, BGB (BDR), and Ansar forces starting from Dhaka Police Lines.”

The post has been shared more than 1,700 times so far. Comments on the post show that many people believed the image to be real. One user commented, “We want justice for the police killers.” Another commented, “The general public all want justice for the police killing.”
The image was also posted from multiple (1, 2) personal Facebook profiles and Instagram.
In the image, several police members are seen standing in front of a peach-colored arch with the words “Bangladesh Police” written on it, holding a banner. The banner reads, “We want justice for the police killing. Bangladesh Police, Army, BGB (BDR), and Ansar—unite!” Some individuals in the march are wearing Bangladesh Air Force uniforms. The people standing on both sides of the front row of the march are wearing different uniforms.
Verification found there is no place or installation called “Dhaka Police Lines.” The police lines located in Dhaka are called “Rajarbagh Police Lines.” Dismislab reviewed multiple (1, 2, 3) images of the gates of Rajarbagh Police Lines, and none of them matches the structure shown in the circulated image. Some letters on the placards used in the march do not form any meaningful words.
Additionally, verification through the AI content detection tool Hive Moderation found that there is up to a 99.8 percent probability that the image was created using AI.Â

Therefore, the image of the joint march demanding justice for the killing of a police officer was created using AI. Previously, Dismislab has published fact-check reports on AI-generated content involving police members.
