In a Facebook post, CHTNews confirmed that the photocard was fake. Additionally, both candidates confirmed on social media that they have not withdrawn from the election. They also urged the public not to be misled by misinformation and to cast their votes.
Correction: In Dismislab’s initial photocard, a post from the page “Indigenous Voice–CHT” was included. That post mentioned “rumors” of nomination withdrawal, but did not directly state that a withdrawal had been “announced.” Among multiple related claims, their post was inadvertently used as an example screenshot. After they pointed out the mistake, it was removed and replaced in this report with a screenshot of a relevant claim as a correction. Dismislab sincerely apologizes for the error.
