A photocard carrying the Jamuna TV logo has spread on Facebook, claiming that BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said the Awami League party, whose activities are banned, can join politics by forming an alliance with BNP if it wishes. However, Dismislab’s fact-check found Jamuna TV did not publish any such card.

The photocard, which contains an image of Salahuddin Ahmed, was shared on  December 8 from a Facebook group. The card, styled to resemble a Jamuna TV graphic, attached Salahuddin Ahmed’s photo to it and carries text that reads, “Awami League can join politics by forming an alliance with BNP if it wants.”

The Jamuna TV logo appears on the lower left corner, while the bottom part shows the date “7 December 2025” and the website address of the channel. A personal Facebook profile also posted the same card with the same claim, though the Jamuna TV logo was removed. The caption in that post reads, “Agent of India, is that so?”

To verify the claim, Dismislab reviewed the December 7 photocards and posts on Jamuna Television’s official Facebook page but found no content matching the circulated card on the outlet’s page on that date.

Rubel Mahmud, Jamuna Television’s editor of the New Media Department, confirmed to Dismislab that they did not make the photocard.

Thus, the photocard circulated under Jamuna TV’s name is fake. Salahuddin Ahmed made no comment suggesting that the Awami League can join politics through an alliance with the BNP.
