Two-month-old Haryana video falsely linked to CJP protest in Delhi
The Facebook pages of the news outlet “Daily Ittefaq” and the online media outlet “Centrist Nation TV” posted a video on October 10 claiming that garbage was dumped on the streets of Delhi to obstruct participants in a protest programme scheduled by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar. However, Dismislab’s fact-check has found that the circulating video is not of a recent incident but rather of a protest by sanitation workers in Haryana two months earlier.
The video was posted on October 10 on the Facebook page of the online media outlet “Centrist Nation TV.” The 1-minute-15-second video shows garbage being dumped onto the road from a dump truck. Many people all around are protesting, with the garbage spread across the road. At this time, a few people nearby can also be seen chanting slogans. The post reads, “Piles of garbage have been dumped on roads in Delhi, allegedly to prevent protesters from reaching Jantar Mantar for the Cockroach Janata Party’s (CJP) planned demonstration on Saturday (October 10).”
On the other hand, the same video was posted from the Facebook page of the news outlet Ittefaq. The report’s headline reads, “Waste being dumped on the road to stop the protest!” In addition, the description uses hashtags such as Delhi and CJP.
In the course of the investigation, a reverse image search was conducted using keyframes from the video. This led Dismislab to find a report published on August 16 of this year in the Indian news outlet “Dainik Bhaskar.” The same video is found in the report. The report states, “Sanitation workers, sewage workers, and fire service workers were on strike under the banner of the Municipal Employees Association in Haryana. The protesters overturned a garbage-laden dumper at Samvidhan Chowk in Panipat and dumped the garbage on the road. Later, they spread that garbage across the road with brooms. This created a long traffic jam on GT Road.” An exact match was found between the video used in the report and the circulating video.

For further details, a keyword search found led to a report, published by another news outlet, about the incident of the sanitation workers’ protest in Haryana.
These reports reveal that the workers were protesting over various demands, including permanent recruitment, proper implementation of the agreement with the government made on May 13, 2026, salary hike and allowances, reinstatement of dismissed workers, and a complete halt to the contractual system and the policy of privatization.
In other words, the report circulated in multiple media outlets in the country claiming that garbage was dumped on the streets to stop the CJP’s protest in Delhi is false. Essentially, this is a scene from a strike and protest programme by sanitation workers in Panipat, Haryana, approximately two months ago.
