Video of another woman falsely linked to MP Fahmida Haq
A video circulating on social media claims to show Fahmida Haq, a reserved-seat member of Parliament from Bangladesh Nationalist Party, drinking alcohol. Dismislab’s investigation found that the woman in the video is not Fahmida Haq.
On July 28, a video was posted on Facebook with a caption that read, “Scene of MP Fahmida Haq drinking alcohol.” The post has been shared about 500 times so far. It has received more than 100 comments and over 2,000 reactions.

The video shows a woman in a white saree pouring a drink into the glass of a person sitting beside her and drinking from her own glass. Several other posts claiming to show MP Fahmida Haq have been found on Facebook and Instagram.
A reverse image search led Dismislab to a video posted on TikTok on August 17, 2025. The caption of the video read, “New Link.” The 14-second video matches exactly with the video circulating in Fahmida Haq’s name. Taking keyframes from this video and conducting further reverse image searches, Dismislab found a webpage on a website. The website mainly circulates pornographic videos and leaks personal videos of individuals.
A video and photos on that webpage match exactly with the video circulating in Fahmida Haq’s name. The upload date for the video and photos is listed as July 30, 2025. Following the trail of other photos on the webpage, Dismislab found a person who identifies himself as a content creator. On his Facebook, he uploaded multiple videos of a woman he claimed was his former partner. In some videos, he appeared alongside the woman. The face of the woman in these videos matches the face of the woman in the video circulated with the false claim. To further verify this, the face of the woman in the circulated video and the face of the woman found on the person’s Facebook were uploaded to a face comparison tool, and the analysis showed a similarity ratio of 82%. According to this model, a similarity ratio above 80% between two faces indicates they are the same person.

Additionally, when checking for facial similarity between Fahmida Haq and the woman in the video claimed to be her, the ratio was found to be 41%, meaning they are not the same person.
For context, Fahmid Haq is a reserved-seat member of Parliament from Bangladesh Nationalist Party, the current ruling party. She is a writer and analyst.
