BCS aspirants' protest linked to ‘Mujib Soldiers’ demonstration

The search found a video report published on The Daily Star’s YouTube channel on November 23, 2025. The report carried the headline, “47th BCS written exam candidates break police barricade and block Shahbagh.” The opening section of the 15-minute and 28-second report matches the viral video. Both videos show the “July 36” square in Shahbagh, the man in a white T-shirt leading slogans, the two people standing beside him in blue-white and yellow clothing, two rickshaws fitted with loudspeakers behind the crowd, and several identical banners.

However, in the original video, the protesters call the Public Service Commission (PSC) “authoritarian” during their slogans. The original footage contains no slogans against Jamaat-Shibir or BNP, nor any chants of “Joy Bangla.”

Further verification through relevant keyword searches found several news reports (1, 2, 3, 4) on the protest.

According to the reports, the candidates had demanded the postponement of the 47th BCS written examination since October 2025. A report by Prothom Alo says that the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) issued a notice on November 23 announcing that the written examination would begin on November 27.
