Scene of explosions in Argentina shared as Iranian attack on Israel
A video is circulating on social media with the claim that an Iranian missile attack caused an explosion at a chemical factory in Israel. However, a fact-check by Dismislab reveals that the video depicts an explosion in an industrial area of Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, on November 14, 2025.
A video was posted from a personal Facebook profile on March 1, 2026. The caption stated, “Powerful explosion at a chemical factory in Talabib as a result of an Iranian missile attack.” . Until the publication of this report, the video has received more than 1,500 reactions and has been viewed over 34,000 times.

In the 18-second video, several individuals are seen running away after an explosion. Most of the individuals are wearing blue caps. The video was shared from another personal Facebook profile and a group with the same claim.
A reverse image search of various keyframes led Dismislab to a short published on November 17 of last year on the YouTube channel of the Turkey-based media outlet TRT World. The title of the shorts was “Regional environmental alert issued following chemical factory explosion in Buenos Aires.”
The detailed description stated, “A massive fire broke out at chemical factories and warehouses following a horrific explosion at the Spegazzini Industrial Park in the Ezeiza area of Buenos Aires, Argentina.” This video is identical to the circulating video.

During verifications, multiple YouTube videos (1, 2, 3) were found where the explosion scene is visible. 9GAG posted the video on their website with the caption, “Now in Spegazzini, Buenos Aires, Argentina.”
Further verification led to several (1, 2, 3) media reports. According to a report published by the Buenos Aires Times on November 15, 2025, “On November 15, 2025, a horrific explosion occurred in an industrial area of the Ezeiza region in the Buenos Aires province of Argentina.” According to officials, the sound of a powerful explosion shook the surroundings in that industrial area of southern Buenos Aires on the night of November 14, and a massive fire broke out. At least 22 people were sent to the hospital in this incident.”

In short, an old video from Argentina is being circulated with the claim of an Iranian attack on a chemical factory in Israel.
For context, the military forces of the United States and Israel began attacks on various cities in Iran on February 28. In response to these attacks, Iran has carried out retaliatory strikes on U.S. bases and installations in the Middle Eastern region. As a result, a cycle of attacks and counterattacks has commenced across the Middle East.
Dismislab has previously published multiple fact-check reports regarding the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
