A video is circulating on social media with the claim that it shows Iranian missiles striking the headquarters and residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. However, a fact-check by Dismislab reveals that the video was created using artificial intelligence or AI.

A video was posted from a personal Facebook profile on March 1, 2026. The caption stated, “Good news before Iftar. A short while ago, Iran launched missiles at Netanyahu’s headquarters and residence.” As of publication of this report, the video has been shared 557 times and viewed more than 127,000 times.

The 18-second video shows the Knesset building, the Israeli parliament. In the first second of the video, a missile is seen exploding on the building. At the 7-second mark, another missile explodes on the building. Nine seconds later, the building is seen collapsing.

The video was posted with the same claim from multiple (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) Facebook profiles and pages (1, 2, 3).

Upon close observations, Dismislab found several  inconsistencies. After the first explosion, no evidence of the building collapsing was visible. Furthermore, no cracks were seen anywhere on the building. The second explosion was larger in comparison, yet the building remained standing. The Israeli flag is also seen flying atop the building. Although the building is seen collapsing at the 16-second mark of the video, the final second shows the building standing upright again.

For further detailed verification, the video was analyzed using AI content detection tools Hive Moderation and Deepfake-o-meter, which showed a high probability that the video was created with AI.

In short, the video circulated with the claim of Iranian missiles being fired at Netanyahu’s headquarters and residence is AI-generated.

For context, on March 2, 2026, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that Netanyahu’s office was “severely damaged” in the 10th missile strike. Multiple international media outlets published reports (1, 2) on this matter. Additionally, Iran’s Mehr News Agency made claims regarding the attack in a post on its X account. However, analysts in Israeli media outlets have rejected these claims. A report published by The Times of Israel on March 2 stated that Israel reported no casualties in the attack.
